Procedure 4.1.1(p)3. LTC Full-time Faculty and Staff Teaching on an Adjunct Basis

Faculty
The following criteria must be met for full-time faculty teaching on an adjunct basis:
- The faculty member must have a full teaching load of up to 30 contact hours per week as outlined in Policy 111.R LTC Faculty Work Schedule and Teaching Load Policy. A "full teaching load" may vary based on faculty who have assumed additional responsibilities (i.e. program chair, division chair, etc.).
- The adjunct teaching assignment cannot exceed more than two (2) additional courses beyond a normal full teaching load.
- The adjunct assignment should not interfere with the full-time instructor's regular, full-time teaching assignments.
- The faculty member must sign salary addendum which shall be approved by the Academic Dean, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Presisdent..
- The faculty member must have received overall satisfactory ratings on course evaluations from the most recent academic term preceding the adjunct teaching assignment.
- The faculty member must not have had any active disciplinary action taken against them within the twelve (12) months preceding the adjunct teaching assignment (i.e. written positive discipline notices on file).
Staff
The following criteria must be met for full-time staff teaching on an adjunct basis:
- The adjunct teaching assignment cannot exceed 2 (two) courses.
- The adjunct assignment should not interfere with the full-time staff member's regular, full-time work assignments.
- The staff member must sign an Adjunct Letter of Agreement which has been approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and/or Vice President of Economic Development.
- The staff member must have received overall satisfactory ratings on course evaluations from the most recent academic term preceding the adjunct teaching assignment (if appropriate).
- The staff member must not have had any active disciplinary action taken against them within the twelve (12) months preceding the adjunct teaching assignment (i.e. written positive discipline notices on file).
