A Community patron is an adult, 18 or older, who is not a current student or employee of Lanier Technical College (LTC), another Technical College System of Georgia institution, or other organization with which LTC has a current resource sharing agreement.

The primary purpose of the Lanier Technical College Library is to assist LTC Students, Staff, and Faculty with their school, work, or research projects.

However: Community Patrons are welcome to use the facility and its resources including computers, reference and circulating materials, audiovisual materials, newspapers, and magazines while inside the Library. Community Patrons who are also patrons at public libraries with which the Library has reciprocal borrowing agreements are allowed to check out circulating library books with a current PINES library card that is in good standing. They are not allowed to have the remote access password to any of the Library's online databases.

Community Patrons may be asked to sign in or announce themselves to Library staff and must identify themselves and sign in to use computers.

Community Patrons are expected to abide by the same general rules as LTC Patrons:

While inside the Library Community Patrons should avoid profanity and threatening language or behavior, show respect for the Library and its staff, and abide by college and library policies and hours of operation.

Community Patrons will be asked to leave the Library if they do not adhere to these rules. Campus Security may be called if deemed necessary by Library staff. Community Patrons who continue to be disruptive or repeatedly violate library policy may have their library privileges revoked.

Computer Use:

Computers are for the primary use of the LTC students and staff. Community patrons will be asked to relinquish computers if a LTC patron is waiting.

A time limit on computer use may be set, which will vary by campus library.

Library Services:

Community patrons are eligible for services, provided Library staff time and workload permit.

These services may include:
