Lanier Tech Fall Growth Pattern Continues for Fourth-Straight Year

August 26, 2024

Gainesville—Lanier Technical College’s mission, “Workforce Development,” lives on throughout the College’s seven-county service area. At the start of the fall semester on August 12, 2024, over 6,900 academic students were registered for courses at one of Lanier Tech’s five campuses.

Compared to the fall semester of 2023, the number of accepted and registered students has increased by 12%. The number of credit hours students are studying for has also increased by ten percent over the fall of 2023.

These numbers confirm that locals are seeking to either upskill themselves or start a new career field in one of the College’s high-demand programs of study. This allows Lanier Tech and other area Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) institutions to fill the spacious skills gap.

Lanier Technical College President Tim McDonald credits the College’s faculty, staff, and community partners for achieving this milestone: ” The College’s growth is a testament to the diverse economy in Northeast Georgia and the College’s program alignment to the needs of our business sectors. Our students can pursue their career passions while being taught by subject matter experts and graduate with a robust foundation of knowledge and skills.”
