Gainesville, GA – Lanier Technical College’s SkillsUSA Chapter competed in the 2023 SkillsUSA National Competitions at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia during the week of June 19, 2023. SkillsUSA Nationals are held after state competitions to test the best competitors from each state in the country.
In all, Lanier Technical College sent 12 competitors to SkillsUSA Nationals. Their names and competitions are as follows:
Benjamin Warro – Firefighting
Christian Alsina – Marine Service Technology
Janet Chapman – Cosmetology
Logan Patterson – Damage Appraisal and Analysis
Estie Duck – Esthetics
Steven Gabriel – Robotics and Automation
Brandon Strike – Robotics and Automation
Paige Buhite – Customer Service
Janet Penaloza – Career Pathways – Health Services
Lillian Phillips – Career Pathways – Health Services
Ashley Watson – Career Pathways – Health Services
Drew Ray – Diesel Equipment Technology
Once the competitions were completed, Lanier Tech had five competitors place, and three of them achieved gold medals. National winners’ names and competitions are as follows:
