A few words about the Ceremony:

Our ceremony will take place outdoors on the Quadrangle in the center of the Hall Campus. Please plan accordingly and inform your guests.

  • Lanier Technical College is a tobacco free campus.
  • Restrooms will be available in adjoining buildings.
  • Guests should arrive between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM. No one will be seated after 8:50 AM, and time is needed for parking and walking/shuttling to the Quad.
  • The commencement ceremony will be recorded but not live-streamed and may last up to 3 hours.
  • Bring snacks & water for your wait; it can be up to 2 hours.

The ceremony will proceed as planned, even in rainy conditions. However, if there is sustained downpour or severe weather, requiring the cancellation of the outdoor ceremony for safety reasons, a more condensed ceremony will be held indoors on a later date (TBA). Depending on the number of graduates, there may be a limit on the number of guests allowed in the case of an indoor ceremony.

Who is eligible to participate?

Associate Degree, Diploma, and Technical Certificate of Credit students who complete their programs during Summer Semester 2024, Fall Semester 2024, and Spring Semester 2025 are eligible to participate.

How do I register to participate in the ceremony and what is the deadline?

Graduates can register online by visiting the Graduation area under My LTC on our website. The deadline to register for this year’s Commencement Ceremony is March 1st, 2025.

What is the process?

  1.  An Application for Graduation Credential must be completed by each potential graduate. See academic calendar for semester deadlines. Students should apply for graduation when registering for their anticipated last semester. This allows the Graduation Specialist time to process the request and notify the student via email.
  2.  Students must register to participate in the Commencement Ceremony by March 1st, 2025 by submitting the Commencement Ceremony Registration form.
  3. The $40 Graduation Fee must be paid by March 5th, 2025. NO EXCEPTION!
  4. After paying the graduation fee, students will be responsible for ordering their own black cap & gown.

What Type of Notification Will Graduates Receive?

Eligible students will be contacted weekly via their student email and personal email (on file) about the ceremony.

When is the $40 Graduation Fee Due?

The Graduation Fee is due no later than March 5th, 2025. Payments can be made through Banner Web, in person, or by phone with the Business Office at 770-533-6909. Graduates must receive confirmation that their registration form has been processed before paying the Graduation Fee.

What Does the $40 Graduation Fee Cover?

The Graduation Fee helps cover the cost of ceremony expenses.

What to Wear?

We ask that you dress formally, such as wearing a dress, skirt or dark pants. Please avoid stiletto heels, as they may be unstable on the grass. Keep in mind that the grass may be wet due to morning dew or weather conditions. You will be walking, standing, and going up and down sidewalk ramps, so please wear comfortable shoes.

Your cap & gown should be all black, and you may customize your cap if desired.

Tickets & Seating:

Tickets are not required. You may invite as many guests as you would like, as the ceremony will be held in the Quad.

  • Guests should arrive between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM.
  • Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and standing room will be available if necessary.

Do I Need to Attend Rehearsal?

Because Commencement is held in the morning, there is no scheduled rehearsal. You can contact your Graduation Specialist if you would like a walk-through. We ask that all graduates arrive promptly at 7:30AM on May 9th to allow time to prepare for the ceremony.

Are You Part of a Student Organization?

You may be eligible to wear a club cord, pin, or stole. Please reach out to your Student Organization for more details.
