Student Counseling

At Lanier Technical College, we care about student well-being and understand that life stressors — family, relationships, finances, school, mental & physical health — can disrupt academic success. Student Support Services aims to help students with assessing issues and concerns outside of the classroom that may create barriers to attaining academic, career and personal goal achievement. Non-academic support is offered through crisis management, brief solution-focused intervention and referrals for community resources.

ESPYR – Counseling Services

ESPYR is Lanier Technical College’s Student Assistance Program. The services are free for students to utilize and cover:

  • 24/7/365 access to licensed mental health professionals for emotional support and crisis intervention
  • Professional assessment, counseling and referral services for personal, academic and family concerns. In-person, phone and video-based counseling options are available.
  • Mobile app and chat functionality reach students where they are – on their phones
  • Help with daily living needs such as community resources, financial and legal services
  • Consultation for faculty and staff regarding student and other issues of concern
  • Topical workshops and support groups
  • On-campus SAP counselor staffing options
  • Case management for students referred by faculty or staff for academic, behavior or conduct concerns and positive drug test referrals for student-athletes
