I’m a second-generation electrician, so I have been around it my whole life. I’ve always been that person who likes to work with their hands to create and build. That being said, I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps of becoming an electrician. It’s something I’m very passionate about. When I first started as a female electrician, everyone had a lot of questions to try and see if I was qualified for the job. Relying on my education, helped to solidify me in my current role. At Lanier Tech, the instructors were very supportive and motivational throughout my time at the college. Working in the field as a female, asking questions was always perceived as a lack of understating. If I ever felt unsure of anything at Lanier Tech, it was one of the few places that I felt safe to ask questions regarding course material. It was the best place to make mistakes and to learn from them in order to become a better electrician. 08/28/2023
